Local Search is mission critical, if you serve a specific geographical area

If you’re locally focused, ranking in your service area is probably the most important thing to work on. For starters, we build what we call, Search Fundamentals, into your site. We tell Google and Bing your location, what you do and who you serve. While it’s easy to do, we’re amazed to see many sites still do not enter this basic info. We cover that base for you. Check.

After your site is built, the first thing we want to address is Local Search. Depending on how competitive your industry and your market is, most of our clients simply need to establish their presence.

Google My Business

You search for something on Google. The map and all that other info about a business, is Google My Business. If this is a revelation to you, we need to bring you up to speed.

This is your secret weapon. Anyone can fill in the basics and we encourage everyone to get familiar with this free tool from Google, while it’s still free. Google Maps now requires a paid account to add your location in a map on your site. We hope they change their minds, but like so many other web features, what start out as free soon enough becomes, pay to play.

We take this channel to the extreme and add your map coordinates, craft perfect images and graphics and fill in every detail we can think to add. We also help craft a strategy to encourage your fans to give you positive reviews. We cannot overstate how important this service is.

Free Exercise for you

Take 2 minutes and try this.

  1. Go to Google.
  2. Type in, “whatever it is you do“, and then “near me” and hit Search. For us it’s, “Web Design near me”Google My Business
  3. Look at the results. If you’re not listed, this is what’s missing.

Local is under attack

We’re seeing national and international corporations attacking your local market share. They’re after your leads, and if you aren’t engaged in Digital marketing, then you need to get busy. If you’re seeing decline in your sales, someone is taking your market share.
